Crescent Springs, KY : Car crashes into Crescent Springs dental office on Tuesday morning, January 20, 2015

A man standing inside his dentist's office was almost struck by a car crashing through the front door shortly before 10 a.m. this morning.

No injuries were reported at Buttermilk Family & Cosmetic Dentistry, 2325 Buttermilk Crossing, after a woman accidentally drove her Honda Accord into the office, said Dr. Gregory Pohl, a dentist at the practice. The woman was a patient coming in for an appointment, Pohl said.

"She was not late for her appointment," he said.

The woman said her gas pedal got stuck, said Trisha Blake, an Erlanger Police Department officer.

"Everybody was OK," Blake said. "The driver, she was definitely devastated."

The dentist office, inside a shopping center, remains open.

A gaping hole remained where a row of glass windows and the front door used to be, as a window company cleaned up the damage.

It is the first time a car has crashed into the office, Pohl said.

Luckily, the normally busy waiting room was mostly empty, he said.

Brittany Burke, a business assistant at the dentistry, sits at a front desk where the front door was, and for now has an open view of the parking lot.

Burke said the car came within inches of striking a man she was speaking with at her desk.

"It scared me half to death," she said.

Burke and another business assistant were sitting at their desks next to each other. Their reaction was to check on the man they were speaking with, Burke said.

"We were just more afraid for him," she said.

Erlanger Police Department officers responded, but the first person there to help was a doctor from Bluegrass Urgent Care next door, Burke said.
