Several people were hurt in a four-vehicle crash Monday morning on the Maine Turnpike in Litchfield that was caused by blowing and drifting snow.
Maine State Police said a woman driving in the southbound passing lane hit a snowdrift just before 10 a.m., causing her car to roll over.
A second vehicle then struck the woman's car. Police said a third vehicle then T-boned the second vehicle.
A fourth vehicle went off the highway while trying to avoid the crash.
Several people were injured, but no injuries were life-threatening, according to police.
The southbound lanes were closed for about an hour.
Speeds were lowered on the turnpike to 45 mph because of the drifting snow.
