MORRIS, IL : Morris woman killed in crash on Route 47 on Wednesday, 25th April 2018

A two-vehicle accident claimed the life of a 23-year-old Morris woman at about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday on Route 47 near Spring Road, according to the Grundy County Coroner's Office.

The woman's vehicle was traveling southbound on Route 47 when the crash occurred.

"Preliminary investigations show that she went to pass another vehicle and for unknown reason did not see stopped traffic turning onto Spring Road and was hit head on by a North bound pickup truck," according to the press release.

She was pronounced dead at the scene at 5:50 p.m. The woman's name is being withheld, pending notification of next of kin.
