Salt Lake City, UT : One killed in Saratoga Springs head-on car crash on Thursday, December, 7th 2017
One man is dead after a car crash Thursday morning on Redwood Road in Saratoga Springs.
According to Sgt. Shane Taylor with the Saratoga Springs Police Department, the accident occurred at 6:45 a.m. A male was driving his vehicle southbound on Redwood Road near Camp Williams, when he crossed the center lane and struck a Jeep headed northbound. The driver of the Jeep was flown by air ambulance in critical condition to an area hospital. The southbound male driver was pronounced dead on the scene.
The decedent was 20 years old, but Taylor said police are not releasing his name until they contact his family.
The crash closed northbound lanes of traffic on Redwood Road at 2100 North Thursday morning until about 10:30 a.m.
According to tweets from the Utah Department of Transportation, there were heavy delays in the area and drivers were encouraged to find an alternative route.
