26 people were injured after a driver crashed her pickup into a grocery store
A total of 26 people were injured after a driver crashed her pickup into a grocery store.
Metro police say the driver, an elderly female, somehow lost control of her vehicle in the parking lot of Food 4 Less at Eastern and Sahara avenues. The vehicle, which was carrying a camper, crashed into the front of the store. It finally came to a rest all the way in the back near the frozen food aisles.
Police say nine of the people injured were taken to the hospital. Another 17 were treated at the store. Two of the injured were children. None of the injuries appear to be life-threatening.
Officers do not yet know what caused the woman to lose control of her vehicle. She is at the scene talking with police.
The store is closed as police continue to investigate.
