Hobbs, N.M : Man dead, 2 children among 3 hurt in rollover south of Hobbs on Sunday, December 4, 2016
Authorities say a Hobbs man is dead and a woman and two young children are injured after a rollover crash.
New Mexico State Police say officers were dispatched to the scene south of Hobbs around 3 a.m. Sunday.
They say it appears that 42-year-old Jesus Piedra-Martinez lost control of the vehicle he was driving and it overturned in a median.
Police say Piedra-Martinez wasn’t wearing a seatbelt. He was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.
They say 38-year-old Priscilla Herrera, of Hobbs, sustained minor injuries and was treated and released from hospital. So were 1-year-old Dayannara Enriquez and 1-year-old Aiden Mendoza, both from Hobbs.
It’s unclear if the two are the children of either Piedra-Martinez or Herrera.
Police say the accident remains under investigation.
