TAMPA, FL : A motorcyclist crashed into a car on Interstate 4 on Sunday, September 3, 2017
A motorcyclist crashed into a car on Interstate 4 Sunday morning, leaving him in critical condition.
Tampa resident Luis A. Trinidad Adames, 39, was riding his Suzuki motorcycle eastbound on the highway, cutting in and out of traffic at high speeds, according to a Florida Highway Patrol report.
Around 11:30 a.m., Adames was west of 50th Street when he passed a Nissan Altima driven by Christopher M. Banaszak, a 34-year-old Tampa man. Adames changed lanes again and then crashed into the back of Banaszak's car, the FHP reported.
The impact flung Adames, who was wearing a helmet, from his vehicle. Authorities transported him to Tampa General Hospital.
Adames was still in critical condition late Sunday afternoon, according to TGH spokeswoman Ellen Fiss. He faces a reckless driving charge.
