Richmond,VI : Motorcyclist is critically injured in Interstate 95 crash in Petersburg on July, Monday 3rd 2017

A motorcyclist was critically injured in a crash Monday night on Interstate 95 in Petersburg, state police said.

State police responded to the wreck, which occurred near Exit 50, about 8:30 p.m. Officers discovered the motorcycle on the northbound side of the interstate and its rider on the southbound side.


The motorcyclist, whose identity was not immediately released, was evacuated by helicopter to VCU Medical Center.

State police could not provide an update on the motorcyclist’s condition Tuesday. The cause of the crash remained under investigation.
