Jackson, MS : JPD police cruiser injured in crash after truck runs red light on Woodrow Wilson Avenue on Tuesday morning, April 21, 2015

A Jackson police officer was injured on Tuesday morning after a vehicle ran a red light.

Officer Colendula Green says at about 8:30 am, a person driving a red pickup truck ran a red light on Woodrow Wilson Avenue and Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and collided into a police cruiser.

The officer sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to UMMC.

The driver of the truck received two citations, had an outstanding shoplifting warrant and was arrested for felony possession of narcotics.
