Salem, N.H : Two people injured after two-car crash on Route 28 in Salem on Tuesday evening, June 16, 2015

Salem police say a portion of Route 28, or South Broadway, was closed for several hours Tuesday night and Wednesday morning while officers investigated a serious crash.

Investigators went to the scene of the two-car crash around 6:15 p.m. Tuesday. One of the drivers was ejected, the other was trapped.

News 9 has learned that both drivers were seriously injured. One was taken to Lawrence General Hospital. The other driver was flown to a Boston hospital.

The Salem Police Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team was called to the scene to investigate.

The highway was closed from Hampshire Road to Newbury Comics on Route 28 and didn't open until around 2 a.m. Wednesday.
