LOCKPOR, NY : Lockport man arrested after chase ends in 3-car crash on Sunday, December 4th, 2016
A Lockport man on Sunday faced a lengthy list of traffic offenses, one day after deputies say a chase ended in a three-vehicle crash that left five people with minor injuries, the Niagara County Sheriff's Office reported.
Also on Sunday the Sheriff's Office identified the occupants of the two other vehicles involved in the crash, which happened about noon Saturday at Akron and Davison roads.
The incident began when the vehicle driven by Alexis W. Cruz, 20, was the subject of a cellphone call by another motorist, who reported reckless driving near Keck Road and East High Street in the Town of Lockport. Deputies reported that Cruz started chasing the vehicle driven by the caller.
A patrol car tried to stop Cruz at Lincoln Avenue and Akron Road, but Cruz kept going west on Akron, entering the City of Lockport, where he allegedly ran a red light at Akron and Davison and collided with two other vehicles. Deputies reported minor injuries for for everyone involved in the crash.
