Weimar ,TX : Two people killed and ten others injured after Bus crash along interstate highway on Wednesday ,June 3rd 2015

Two people were killed and about 10 others injured in a bus crash Wednesday on a Texas interstate highway, authorities said.

The crash happened about 12:30 p.m. in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 10 at Weimar, about 85 miles west of Houston, when the bus crashed into the rear of a flatbed trailer, according to a statement from the Texas Department of Public Safety. Other vehicles were also involved in the chain-reaction collision.

A statement from the agency says the driver and another person on the bus were killed. The injured were taken to hospitals.

The crash happened in a construction area as traffic stopped in front of the bus, which the agency said was traveling from the border city of Laredo, Texas, to North Carolina. Video from the scene showed it was a Transportes del Norte bus.

The Mexican company didn't immediately return a message seeking comment.

A car was crushed in the crash, but its driver was not injured.

"It started spinning me around, and I just put my head down under my arms and, um, rode it out," the driver, Susan James of Houston, told Houston TV station KHOU (http://bit.ly/1dfJgQ0 ).

"I'll probably break down when I get home. I'm just really calm about it don't ask me why," James said. "I just think God was watching out for me, and I had an angel sitting on my shoulder."
