CADDO PARISH, LA : One man died in a 18-wheeler fatal wreck on Hwy 71 on early Wednesday morning July 30th 2014

Traffic is flowing freely again on Highway 71, which had been stalled for most of the day as workers cleaned up debris from a wreck.

That wreck, which happened about 3:30 a.m. Wednesday morning, cost one man his life.

Officials said that a truck driver died after crashing an 18-wheeler near where the newest section of I-49 ends near Hosston.

Investigators said the driver left the roadway, veering into the densely packed woods. The cause of the crash is unknown at this time. Investigators said the truck is owned by a local shipping company.

The name of that company has not been released, nor has the name of the truck driver.
