Baltimore,MD : Baltimore man killed in Howard County crash on September, Sunday 3rd 2017

Howard County police have identified the victim killed in a two-vehicle crash that occurred in Columbia on Sunday .

Authorities said Shuo Zhang, 55, of Baltimore, was driving a 2009 Honda Civic eastbound on Route 175, through the intersection with Dobbin Road, when the car was struck by a 1995 Toyota Camry that was traveling southbound on Dobbin Road, at about 5:30 p.m.

Zhang was taken to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where he died. His passenger, Lingyu Yin, 86, of Ellicott City, also was taken to Shock Trauma and is listed in serious condition.

The driver and only occupant of the Toyota was identified as Toni Marie Guthrie, 40, of Columbia. She was transported to Howard County General Hospital where she was treated and released.

Police said their preliminary investigation reveals Zhang failed to stop for a red light. Authorities said the investigation is continuing.
