Putnam County, FL : Hawthorne man dies in one-car crash in Putnam County at Keuka Road and Sand Mine Trail on Monday, 25th November, 2019

A Hawthorne man has died after losing control of his car and hitting a tree, the Florida Highway Patrol reported.

In a news release early Monday, troopers reported that Troy Floyd, 53, died in a 9:46 p.m. crash in Putnam County at Keuka Road and Sand Mine Trail.

He was driving a 1988 Honda Civic east on Keuka when he failed to negotiate a left curve and ran off the road, then overcorrected and hit a tree, the release said.

He was not wearing a seat belt, the release said.
