teenager has been arrested following a car chase in the township Wednesday night that ended with the death of an unidentified man, authorities said.
Shern A. Noel, 18, of Pulaski Street in Brooklyn, N.Y., was charged with second-degree death by vehicular homicide after twice trying to elude police and causing a fatal crash, Somerset County Prosecutor Geoffrey D. Soriano, Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Chief of County Detectives Timothy Fitzgerald and Bernards Township Chief of Police Brian Bobowicz announced Thursday in a joint news release.
At 8:57 p.m., a Bernards police officer spotted a 2013 Honda Accord, with tinted windows, parked in a Martinsville Road gas station, the release said. The office ran a check on the vehicle and discovered that the New York registration was suspended, the release said.
