Kennard, NE : 1 transported following crash along U.S. 30 on Friday, 22nd February 2019

One woman was transported following a single-vehicle accident Friday along U.S. Highway 30 near state Highway 31 west of Kennard.

Kennard and Arlington rescue squads and Washington County sheriff's deputies responded to the scene just after 9 a.m.

Sgt. Don Morgan said a gray Ford Explorer left the road at highway speed, through the ditch and stopped near the railroad tracks. The woman was the only occupant of the vehicle.

Union Pacific was notified and trains were temporarily stopped until the vehicle could be removed.

Morgan said it is suspected the woman suffered a medical issue prior to the crash. Kennard Rescue transported the woman to Memorial Community Hospital and Health System.

A witness saw the incident happen, called 911 and stayed with the woman until first responders arrived.
