BROOKSVILLE, FL : Bartow man dies in morning crash on Saturday, November, 4th 2017

A 28-year-old Bartow man died early Saturday morning after his pickup left the roadway and struck a palm tree, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Corey Lee Pierce was southbound on Ponce De Leon Boulevard in Brooksville at about 4:50 a.m. when he lost control of his 2002 Dodge Ram truck near Flagstone Road. The truck traveled onto the west shoulder of the road, overturned and hit the palm tree. He died at the scene.
The driver was wearing a seat belt, and alcohol wasn’t a factor in the crash, according to an FHP press release.
