Troy, MI : 2 dead after wrong-way crash on I-75 in Troy on Sunday, 26th January, 2020
Two people are dead after wrong-way car crash on Interstate 75 early Sunday morning, Troy police said.
At 4:17 A.M. Troy police dispatch was alerted by Madison Heights police that a 2011 Chevrolet Malibu was driving northbound in the southbound lanes of I-75 north of 12 Mile.
The Malibu collided with a 2019 Dodge Challenger between 14 Mile and Maple, Troy police said.
The driver of Malibu was pronounced dead at the scene and the driver of the Challenger was taken to Royal Oak Beaumont Hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.
Southbound I-75 was closed for 5½ hours but has since reopened.
It is unknown if drugs or alcohol were a factor in this crash. Autopsy results are pending. The crash is still being investigated.
