Grand Junction, CO : Students, truck driver injured following school bus accident north of Delta on Monday morning, March 27, 2017
Ten students were taken to the hospital with minor injuries and the driver of a truck suffered serious injuries following an accident involving a school bus this morning just north of Delta.
The accident, which Delta police say did not involve alcohol, happened around 8:15 a.m. on U.S. Highway 50.
Police said in an update posted at 10:30 a.m. that 10 students were taken to the hospital with apparent minor injuries. The driver of the truck also was taken to the hospital with “apparent very serious injuries,” police said.
Police have not yet said exactly how the accident happened. The accident remains under investigation.
One lane of the highway was closed during accident-cleanup and investigation. The lane has since reopened.
