Carbondale, IL : A Thompsonville woman was killed in an accident on Friday, January, 19th 2018

A Thompsonville woman was killed in an accident on Friday afternoon in Saline County.

According to a preliminary investigation by the Illinois State Police, 20-year-old Danielle P. Steiner of Thompsonville was traveling northbound on Illinois Route 34, just north of Webber Cemetery Road, when her 2004 Ford Taurus crossed the center line into the southbound lane, in the path of a 1998 International truck driven by Marshall W. Cissna, 47, of Nortonville, Kentucky. Cissna was unable to avoid Steiner's vehicle, striking it on the driver's side door.

Steiner was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash by the Saline County Coroner's Office. Cissna was not injured.
