Covington, KY : 4 people, 1 dog hurt in a 5-vehicle crash at the Brent Spence Bridge on Monday, February 2, 2015
Four people were injured Monday after a crash involving a sewage tanker, a semi truck and a car near the Brent Spence Bridge in Covington.
The four crash victims and a dog were inside the car, which became lodged under the semi after being struck by the tanker at about 2:30 p.m. The four were taken to a nearby hospital and the dog was taken to Kenton County Humane Society for treatment, authorities said.
The incident happened at the northbound I-75/71 entrance to the bridge near 5th Street.
The tanker, from Mike Hensley Plumbing & Electric, Inc., landed on its side. Crews had to pump feces from the truck before removing it from the interstate.
The northbound lanes of I-75/71 reopened at about 5:20 p.m., officials said.
