Lewis, NY : Willsboro man died after two cars collided on State Route 9 in the Town of Lewis on Tuesday, December 8, 2015

New York State Police said two cars collided on State Route 9 in the Town of Lewis Tuesday, killing a man from Willsboro.

Jacob Bass, 23, of Louisville, Kentucky, was driving south on State Route 9 when Nicholas Boardman, 27, of Willsboro was coming North, according to investigators. That's when the two cars collided head-on.

Bass was brought to Champlain Valley Physician's Hospital, and then transferred to Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington where he is in stable condition, police said.

A passenger in Boardman's car was brought to Elizabethtown Community Hospital and released with no injuries.

Boardman was pronounced dead at the scene by an Essex County Coroner. An autopsy was scheduled for Tuesday morning.

State police are continuing to investigate the crash.
