TYNGSBORO, MA : Police seek witnesses in Tyngsboro crash near the intersection of Sherburne Avenue and Coburn Road on Monday, 26th August 2019

Tyngsboro police are seeking witnesses who saw a car strike a Sherburne Avenue telephone pole before its driver fled on foot Monday night, the department announced on social media.

The rollover crash near the intersection of Sherburne Avenue and Coburn Road was reported about 9:45 p.m.

The impact from the accident tore a telephone pole from the ground, police said. The area experienced a brief power outage while National Grid repaired the pole.

A potential suspect was found soon after the incident, police said. The suspect has not been identified. Photos posted by police show serious front-end damage to a black sedan involved in the crash. Tyngsboro police were not immediately available for comment.

In a social-media post, police asked those with information about the crash or the moments after to report to Officer Dennis Leach or Sgt. Kenneth Healey at 978-649-7504.
