Fort Lauderdale, FL : Sunrise man killed in single-vehicle crash in west Broward on Saturday, 5th November 2016

An 81-year-old man was killed in a single-vehicle accident along U.S. 27 in western Broward County early Saturday, authorities said.

Harvey Nelson Peacock, of Sunrise, died in the crash along the southbound lanes of U.S. 27 just south of the Interstate 75 overpass, said Sgt. Mark Wysocky.

The Florida Highway Patrol was dispatched at about 8:20 a.m. and found Peacock as the only occupant in a 2002 Cadillac DeVille, Wysocky said. Authorities said the car rolled over and Peacock was ejected. The cause of the crash is being investigated.

Initially, there were reports of a second possible victim and Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue's search and rescue dog, Dig, was brought to check the area, agency spokesman Mike Jachles said.
