Las Vegas ,NM: 21-year-old woman dead after single-vehicle crash on Interstate 25 on Thursday ,June 18th 2015

New Mexico State Police are investigating a single-vehicle crash in Las Vegas that led to the driver's death.

Sgt. Elizabeth Armijo says the crash happened around 3:30 p.m. Thursday on Interstate 25.

Armijo says a Mercury was going northbound on the interstate when it went off the roadway and hit a guard rail.

According to investigators, 21-year-old Eliana Herrera, of Las Vegas, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Armijo says Herrera was wearing a seatbelt and alcohol does not appear to be a factor.

The crash is still under investiagion.
