Newport,NY : Rochester man killed in accident at central NY business on may, saturday 13th 2017
State police say they’re investigating the cause of an accident at a central New York business that has claimed the life of a Rochester man.
Troopers say an employee of the Cook Fence Co. in the Herkimer County town of Newport was using a forklift to unload bundles of fence from a flatbed trailer around 9:30 a.m. Saturday.
Police say as the worker unloaded from one side of the truck, another bundle fell off the flatbed on the other side of the trailer and landed on the truck driver, 53-year-old John Sedita of Rochester.
Troopers say he was taken to St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in nearby Utica, where he died from his injuries.
