LIVE OAK, GA : Infant critically injured in I-10 crash on February, Sunday 25th 2018

A Gainesville infant suffered critical injuries and two others were in serious condition following an accident Sunday afternoon on Interstate 10.

A gray Dodger Charger and a gold Toyota Corolla were traveling east on I-10 at mile marker 277 just east of the Live Oak and Lee exit around 1 p.m. Sunday when they collided, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The collision caused the Charger to overturn in the ditch, according to the FHP report.

Two occupants, including an infant, of the Charger were air-lifted to UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville while the third occupant was also taken to UF Health Shands by ambulance.

The infant, Kason George, suffered critical injuries, while 22-year-old Walter George and 19-year-old Katira Sanders, both also of Gainesville, suffered serious injuries. Neither Walter George nor Sanders were wearing seatbelts, according to the report.

The report states it is not known where the infant was in a carseat.

The driver of the Corolla, 62-year-old Jeffrey Kromrey, of Tampa, was not injured in the accident.

The crash, including who was driving the Charger, is still being investigated by the FHP. Charges are pending the investigation.
