Annapolis, MD : Two people die in fatal crash on Navy Boulevard on Thursday, 26th March, 2020

Two people died Thursday morning after fleeing from authorities in a stolen Hummer, losing control of the vehicle and driving off a bridge on Navy Boulevard.

Maurice Jones, 21, and Maurice Griggs, 21, died as a result of the crash, according to Pensacola Police Department spokesman Mike Wood. One of the men died at the scene, and the other man died at a local hospital.

"It is unknown at this time who was driving the vehicle," Wood said.

A preliminary investigation by the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office revealed that the Hummer had been stolen early Thursday morning from an area near Perdido Key where several car burglaries had occurred, the ECSO announcement on social media.
