Wrong-way crash in Jefferson City kills woman from Camdenton

A woman from Camdenton died in a crash in Jefferson City on Wednesday evening.Jefferson City police say 19-year-old Chelsea D. Fredrickson was killed when her 2003 Saturn was struck head-on by a Ford Ranger pickup traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of U.S. 54 at Missouri Route 179.

Fredrickson was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in the Saturn was airlifted to University Hospital in Columbia.Police say alcohol is suspected as being a factor in the crash.
