Ann Arbor, MI : 1 killed in semi crash on EB M-14 at I-94 on Monday, 24th June 2019

Part of M-14 is closed in Washtenaw County Monday morning for a fatal accident involving several vehicles, including two semi trucks. One person was killed when they became trapped in the truck fire.

The eastbound lanes of M-14 from I-94 to Barton Drive are closed down right now. It's expected until mid-afternoon.The Ann Arbor Township Fire Department tells us a semi truck hauling auto parts lost control on the bridge, rolled on its side and caught fire, trapping the driver in the cab. Crews got there as quickly as they could but the driver could not be saved. "It's extremely frustrating. We like to get their earlier to make a difference but my guess is that, as quick as that fire spread, it was almost unsurvivable from the beginning," says Ann Arbor Township Fire Department Chief Mark Nicholai.

Nicholai wasn't sure yet what caused the crash.
