Detroit Lakes, MN : Man hurt in collision near Deer Creek on Friday, August 5, 2016
A Detroit Lakes man was one of two people injured in a broadside collision north of Deer Creek in Otter Tail County on Friday.
James T. Larson, 33, of Detroit Lakes suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Tri-County Hospital in Wadena, according to the State Patrol. He was wearing a seatbelt.
The other driver, Lawrence E. Williams, 69, of Traverse City, Mich., also suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Tri-County Hospital in Wadena. He was also wearing a seat belt.
Larson was northbound on Otter Tail County Road 106 in a 2005 GMC Sierra pickup truck.
Williams was westbound on County Road 52 (the Ottertail cutoff) in a 1997 GMC K1500 pickup truck. He failed to yield and the two trucks met in the intersection, according to the State Patrol. Both vehicles were totaled.
The crash was reported at about 4:30 p.m. on dry two-lane pavement. The Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.
