Claypool Hill, VA : Trailer crashes into building at the Appalachian Arts Center in Tazewell County on Friday morning August 15th 2014
A trailer loaded with guardrails barrels into a building at the Appalachian Arts Center in Tazewell County on Friday, Aug. 15, 2014. The accident happened at 9:44 a.m.
According to Virginia State Police, a highway construction truck was hauling the trailer. It was traveling south on Route 19 when the trailer broke away from the truck. It ran off the road and into the front of the Appalachian Arts Center building. There was a person inside the building at the time, but she was not hurt in the crash. The damage to the building is being assessed by the Tazewell County building inspector.
The truck's driver, Benny Terry, 31, of Pounding Mill, VA was charged with Defective Equipment. The incident is still under investigation by the Virginia State Police.
