Huntsville, TX : Two injured in Highway 30 accident in Walker County on Monday, October 3, 2016
Two people were flown by helicopter to a Houston-area hospital Monday with injuries that were not life-threatening after being involved in a head-on collision in Walker County.
Trooper Dewane Harris with the Texas Department of Public Safety said Wednesday the accident occurred about 4:30 p.m. on Highway 30 near Morgan Road.
"A witness said she was teaching her son to drive and they were slowing down traveling west on Highway 30 when a blue Pontiac behind them became impatient and tried to pass them," Harris said. "The Pontiac hit a white Camaro traveling east head-on."
Harris said the drivers of the Camaro and Pontiac were both injured and transported by Life Flight to Memorial Hermann Hospital. There were no other occupants in the vehicles.
"I talked with EMS at the scene and they said a doctor was passing through and he indicated that the driver of the Camaro suffered a broken femur," Harris said. "The driver of the Pontiac had broken ribs, an ankle and a foot. The injuries were not life-threatening, but due to the extent of them, it was determined they needed to be flown."
