A boy struck by a car Tuesday night in a hit-and-run crash is in serious condition.

The crash was reported at 4:44 p.m. near South 12th and Bancroft streets, according to dispatchers.

Kamren M. Sykes, 6, was transported in critical condition to the Nebraska Medical Center, according to dispatchers. Later, authorities said that he should make a full recovery. He's being treated for a broken clavicle, punctured left lower leg, broken teeth and multiple abrasions, according to a release from the Omaha Police Department.

The suspect vehicle, according to authorities, is a gold or tan-colored late-'80s to early '90s Honda or Toyota four-door sedan.

"Kids play in this neighborhood a lot," Erica Spring, Kamren's aunt, said. "They should have put a speed bump on this street a long time ago. Be careful when you're driving."

An investigation revealed that the vehicle was traveling northbound on 12th Street when it collided with Kamren, who was crossing the street on his bicycle, according to the release.
