Carbondale, IL : A bicyclist suffered minor injuries after being struck by a car in Campbell Hill on May, Monday, 22nd 2017

A bicyclist suffered minor injuries Monday after being struck by a car in Campbell Hill.

According to a news release form the Jackson County Sheriff's Office, at approximately 8:50 p.m. Monday, the Jackson County Ambulance Service and the Campbell Hill Fire Department responded to a single-vehicle crash on Illinois 4, east of Spring Hill Drive in Campbell Hill.

Landen Korando, 18, of Campbell Hill, was driving a 2006 Ford Focus east on Illinois 4 when he struck a 17-year-old juvenile bicyclist from Ava with his passenger-side mirror. According to the release, the bicyclist was wearing a yellow safety vest with reflective material and the bike was equipped with a working head lamp and flashing rear lamp.

The bicyclist was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries. No other injuries were reported.
