An elderly woman was killed in a crash in south Charlotte Tuesday evening.
It happened around 5 p.m. on Quail Hollow Road at Gleneagles Road.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police say 80-year-old Jacqueline Lookabill was driving a 2002 Ford Explorer turning left onto Gleneagles Road when she turned into the path of an oncoming Freightliner truck. The front of Lookabill's Explorer struck the truck.
Medic took Lookabill to Carolinas Medical Center where she was pronounced dead a short time later.
Police say speed and alcohol did not appear to be factors in the crash.
The driver of the truck suffered minor injuries.
Police say the case remains under investigation.
