Apple Creek, OH : One driver dead and injured another Monday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash on October 6th 2014

Officers are investigating a two-vehicle crash, which killed one driver and injured another Monday afternoon. 54-year-old Heather M. Ross, of Wooster, was heading southbound on Apple Creek Road, just north of Ely Road when the crash happened at 3:11 p.m., according to Ohio State Highway Patrol. A driver heading in the opposite direction, 75-year-old Eli Hershberger, of Winesburg, crossed the center line of traffic, striking Ross' vehicle, which went off the roadway before coming to rest. Troopers said both drivers were not wearing their seat belts at the time of the crash. Ross was pronounced dead on the scene. Hershberger was sent to Akron City Hospital as stable, but guarded.
