Glastonbury ,CT :Several Children injured after School Bus crash along Route 17 on Tuesday morning ,April 28 2015

Several children suffered minor injuries when a dump truck collided with a school bus in Glastonbury.

Police say the truck apparently struck the bus from behind at about 10:20 a.m. Tuesday on Route 17, where it becomes Main Street.

More than 30 students from the John Barry Elementary School in Meriden were on board the bus. Police say no one was seriously injured.

Several people were transported to Hartford Hospital and the Connecticut Children's Medical Center in Hartford for treatment. The rest were taken by another bus to the hospital to be checked out and reunited with parents.

State police were investigating the accident. No charges were immediately filed.
