Portland, OR : Man struck and killed on I-205 near Northeast Portland on Monday evening, December 1, 2014

A pedestrian was hit and killed on Interstate 205 in Northeast Portland on Monday evening. The crash happened at the Killingsworth/Sandy/Columbia off-ramp, police said. They said a man was hit while crossing the southbound lanes. Police said the man may have been panhandling along the northbound on-ramp on Northeast Sandy Boulevard. According to police, the driver who hit the man was not impaired, stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators. An autopsy will be performed Tuesday, which will help confirm the man's identity.
