BLANCHARD TOWNSHIP, OK: Multiple injuries reported from three-vehicle crash near Findlay on Friday, 28th December 2018

Multiple injuries were sustained in a three vehicle crash around 11:20 a.m. Dec. 28 on U.S. 224 at township Road 120 in Blanchard Township, according to the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office.

An investigation revealed that Alan Woitas, 57, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, rear-ended Amy Schroeder, 36, of Aurora, Colorado, in stopped traffic eastbound on U.S. 224.

Schroeder, carrying four passengers, was stopped in traffic when Woitas, carrying five passengers, failed to stop in time. Schroeder’s vehicle went into the westbound lane of U.S. 224 and struck head-on a vehicle driven by Jeanne Niese, 57, of Leipsic. Niese’s vehicle then went off the right side of the roadway, striking a tree.

Niese was extricated by McComb Volunteer Fire Department and transported by Hanco EMS to Blanchard Valley Hospital in Findlay for injuries suffered in the crash. Schroeder and three of her passengers were also transported by Hanco EMS to Blanchard Valley Hospital for injuries.

Also assisting on the scene was Dick’s Towing, R&A Towing and Franks Towing.
