Anderson,OH : 2 seriously injured in Anderson Township crash on April, monday 1st 2017
A man is in critical condition and a woman is in serious condition following a crash Batavia Pike in Anderson Township on Monday evening.
Drugs are believed to be a factor in the crash that occurred in the 5500 block of Batavia Pike just before 6 p.m., according to the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office.
Brandon Shoemake, 32, of Mount Orab, was driving a 2001 Plymouth Neon eastbound and allowed his vehicle to travel left of center into the westbound lane, according to the sheriff's office. The car struck a westbound 2010 Hyundai Sonata driven by Mary Lou Carson, 71, of Cincinnati.
Shoemake had to be mechanically extricated from his vehicle. He was taken to University of Cincinnati Medical Center by Air Care. He is listed in critical condition.
Carson was taken to UC hospital by the Anderson Township Fire Department. She is listed in serious condition.
Carson was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash; Shoemake was not.
The crash remains under investigation by the Sheriff's Traffic Safety Unit.
