CHARLOTTE, NC : Sleeping driver crashes into power pole in east Charlotte on Wednesday, March 8th 2017

A driver fell asleep and crashed into a power pole in east Charlotte early Wednesday morning, police say.
It happened just after midnight on Central Avenue at Briar Creek Road, closing the area down for a time.
The driver wasn't hurt and no major power outages were reported in the area.
Duke Energy crews responded to the scene to replace the power pole.
