Rapid City ,SD :Missouri couple killed after motorcycle accident on Thursday ,September 3rd 2015

Two people were killed Thursday afternoon on U.S. Highway 383 in a motorcycle crash, about 5 miles south of Pactola Reservoir, according to a release from the South Dakota Highway Patrol.

George Torp, 72, of Lotowana, Mo., was riding a 2013 Victory motorcycle south with his wife, Mary Torp, when the motorcycle left the roadway and crashed into a guardrail.

The Torps were thrown from the motorcycle. Mary Torp, who was wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her husband, George, who was not wearing a helmet, died while being transported to Rapid City Regional Hospital.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol and the Pennington County Sheriff’s Office are continuing to investigate what happened.
