Dunmore,PA : Early-morning ATV crash leads to water rescue in Dunmore on October, Saturday 21th 2017

Rescuers pulled a woman from Roaring Brook after an all-terrain vehicle crash early Saturday morning in the borough’s Bunker Hill section.

She had been riding as a passenger on the ATV when they crashed, said Dunmore Fire Department Chief Christopher DeNaples.

Borough police called for rescue workers about 5 a.m. after the driver, a man, yelled for help from a front porch on Erie Street, shouting that he had been in an accident, DeNaples said. Crews found the woman in the water up to her waist with apparent severe injuries, DeNaples said, though he was unsure to the degree she was hurt.

The names of the ATV driver and passenger were not available Sunday.

Crews used ropes to descend into the creek and rescue her, the chief said. An ambulance carried her to Geisinger Community Medical Center.
