MOANALUA, HI : Woman, 35, dies following crash on Moanalua Freeway on Tuesday, 19th December 2023

A woman was killed in a two-car crash on the Moanalua Freeway, Tuesday.

The crash happened just before noon. According to a the the report y Honolulu Police, the driver – a 35-year-old woman – was driving west on Moanalua Freeway when she suddenly began to slow down in traffic and drifted right into the cement guardrail.

After hitting the guardrail, investigators say the car continued west, sideswiping another car, before crashing into the guardrail again.

Honolulu EMS took the woman to the hospital in critical condition. She was later pronounced dead at the hospital. Investigators have not said if the woman was injured in the crash or if she suffered some kind of medical emergency. She has not yet been identified.

A 28-year-old woman who was driving the car that the victim sideswiped was not injured.
