Joplin, MO : One motorist injured in area accident on Tuesday, December 20th 2016

A Carl Junction resident was injured in a two-car accident at 4:50 p.m. Tuesday on state Highway 43, two miles north of Joplin in Jasper County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The patrol said Emilie A. Mieseler, 30, suffered minor injuries and was taken by ambulance to Freeman Hospital West in Joplin.

Mieseler's vehicle was northbound when it slowed and pulled into the left turn lane, the patrol said. A southbound vehicle driven by Robert L. Rider, 76, of Neosho, drifted into the turn lane and struck Mieseler's vehicle head on. Rider was uninjured, the patrol said.
