MESA, AZ : 52-year-old man dead after his motor scooter was hit from behind by a car on Saturday morning August 2nd 2014
A 52-year-old Mesa man was killed Saturday morning after his motor scooter was hit from behind by a car that failed to stop at a red light, Maricopa County sheriff's deputies said.
The car then plowed into a pole at Broadway near Ellsworth roads, trapping the 43-year-old driver. She was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
At the time of accident, the driver of the scooter was stopped at the red light, MCSO spokesman Officer Christopher Hegstrom said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
