Topeka, KS : One man killed, another seriously injured in car accident on Interstate 70 in Douglas County on Sunday, 1st March, 2020
A Minnesota man was killed in a car accident on Interstate 70 in Douglas County, according to a Kansas Highway Patrol crash report.David Lee Woelfle, 50, of Lino Lakes, Minn., was driving a Ram ProMaster near the 199 mile marker on I-70 when he hit a deer around 2 a.m. Sunday, according to the report. That’s in between the McDonald Drive and Kansas Highway 10 interchanges.
Woelfle reportedly lost control of the vehicle, struck the inside barrier wall and came to rest in an eastbound lane of the highway. A GMC Yukon was heading eastbound, did not see Woelfle’s vehicle and struck its passenger side, according to the report.
