TISKILWA, IL : Victim identified in fatal accident in Bureau County on Sunday, 22nd December, 2019

A Tiskilwa man was identified as the victim in a fatal, single-vehicle accident Sunday night in rural Bureau County.

Austin Hellman, 24, was killed in the crash about 11 p.m. east of Tiskilwa, Bureau County Coroner Janice Wamhoff said.

Hellman’s vehicle apparently rolled off Tiskilwa Bottom Road, about one-quarter mile west of County Road 2050 East. Subsequently, the vehicle caught fire.

A 23-year-old woman was injured and transported from the scene. Her identity and condition were unknown publicly Tuesday. It also wasn’t clear who was driving.

The Bureau County Sheriff’s Office was continuing its investigation.
